The gap between rich and poor is as evident as ever and stories of government corruption are told on every corner by anyone willing to listen. Just another case of the rich getting richer and the poor are merely forgotten by products of the rich mans ever swelling wallet.
Its not unusual for the locals to speak 4+ languages not bad for a country with an adult literacy rate of only 56%... Not only the locals but it seemed everyone that I traveled with could speak fluently another language especially the Europeans. Even though this is probably largely due to necessity and exposure to other languages given the proximity of other countries in Europe, I couldn't help but feel that the majority of Australians are severely lacking in that area!
